When you complete the training class, you will start learning and earning dispatching carriers. The exciting part is that you will gain the knowledge and experience necessary to be successful. This guaranteed position is based on the completion of the class and the training in place.
A freight broker agent is someone who worker under a freight broker who basically finds loads from shippers and locates the truck to haul the load. The agent does the "sales" and "dispatching" of the load to the carrier and services the shipper. The broker for which the broker agent represents, does the back office such as billing, paying the trucks, collections, legal and claims (not the entire list).
An independent truck dispatcher is someone who represents multiple carriers to find freight, complete contracts, do billing and provide customer service. The dispatcher usually works with brokers as the carriers are very small and usually only have one or a few trucks.
While there are some differences, it is easy to be said that they do similar functions.
When you are done with the course portion of the training, you will then be placed with us to dispatch our trucks with our parent company IHAVETRUCKS.COM or division company The Box Truck Network LLC
When you start as a job placement student, you will be given trucks to start dispatching. While we do not guarantee what types of trucks are available when you start, we will make sure that you are working with good drivers.
Now, you are going to be doing the "fun" part. We do the grunt work. You will find freight & book freight, negotiate rates, dispatch the truck, & customer service.
The placement of the truck depends on the progress of the student. The more comfortable you are, the sooner the trucks. There is no pressure to rush you into something.
